Conscious Luxury
On her first visit to New York City at age seventeen, Ani walked the streets of fifth avenue dreaming of wearing the creations of high end designers. Imagining how it would feel like and how she would look dressed in those elegant silhouette and luxury fabrics. Grasping onto that feeling, Ani enrolled at Rhode Island School of Design as a Fashion Design Major, where her designs excelled in an impeccable construction, modern cuts and sourcing materials of high quality. Upon successfully completing the career, graduating Suma Cum Laude, Ani became the designer to dress both herself and the woman she envisioned to become.
Conscious Luxury is a term Ani Alvarez Calderon assigns to her design philosophy, where garments are made with purpose and designed to last. A practice Ani has employed since the year 2000 when she established her Brand. Ani began creating made to order gowns, where she embraced the sourcing of materials as a meticulous process, seeking for the best materials and purchasing the required quantities for the making of the garments.
Ani’s approach to design lead her to design with the planet in mind. Offering her clients an experience of luxury with practices that are conscious of the use of materials. This practice has been employed by Ani in the making of all garments and lead her to further question fashion as a means to create with purpose and lead by example.

Inspired in the beauty of the history of Peru where culture, society, religion and nature became themes of design, Ani showcased wonderful designs that embrace a story. Her Couture Collections have communicated these elements in visual form, where the history of Peru became a wearable art piece.
